Dragonflies are beautiful creatures and some women consider them an alternative to getting a butterfly tattoo. However, they are much more than that. These are hardy and incredibly quick insects. They hover where they like, oblivious to what is around them because, for the most part, they have nothing to worry about.

The Disney star can't seem to keep herself out of scandals and she is only 16 years old. First it was the topless photo shoot that caused some much drama, even though she had a bed sheet covering herself and all you could see what her back. She is also involved in a law suit regrading all the Asians in CA , due to a photo of her pretending she was Asians. She is also ridiculed for her close relationship to her father, well one more thing can be added to that list, a tattoo.

Miley is not quite of age to get a tattoo just yet but that hasn't stopped her from wanting to get one. Like most girls Miley's age they want a tattoo. Well it seems Miley has already picked out what she wants as her first tattoo and to the seasoned tattoo person its the ultimate tattoo no no. This tattoo design that Miley has picked out is not the wisest of tattoo design. She wants to get the initials of her 20 year old boyfriend, Justin Gaston.

One would think that her parents Billy Ray and Tish would put their foot down and advise their daughter that getting the initials of a boyfriend who is more than likely just a teenager love affair is not the best idea. But it seems Billy Ray and Tish are ok with this because of a new tattoo ink that has come out that promises to be more effective when you want to get one removed by a laser. Either way getting tattoos removed is painful and expensive. It's best to just skip the whole boyfriend initials thing and get a butterfly or a heart tattoo instead.

Best Tatoo 3D

For thousands of years, people have used tribal tattoos for different functions. During the Stone Age, our ancestors have used these kinds of markings on their bodies to show status, power or rank. From then on, it was been adopted by other groups of ancient people. And now, it is even more popularized as a form of body art.

Tattoos have become a kind of creation that people would indulge in to be unique or simply to adorn themselves. However, these tribal tattoos have meaning and symbolism in it. You may want to have one on your arm or your back but finding the right tribal tattoo design may be the first thing that will come to your mind. Well, the design will surely have a meaning and it will depict the image you want to portray. Behind the tribal tattoo could mean peace, love, wisdom and many others. Some people just choose a particular design without knowing its meaning or symbolism. They go out blindly picking the tattoo without knowing its history.

If you really want to get a tribal tattoo design, do not go for the generics. It is best if you do a little homework first by looking up the internet for the tribal tattoo's symbolism and meaning. If you find out that it is not suited for you then you can just choose another style that truly fits your personality. Are you getting a tribal tattoo just because you really want to express yourself or you are just getting along with the current trend? Well, whichever motivated you to have one, the choosing part is very exciting and at the same time, thrilling.

The good thing about tribal tattoos is that you can choose from a wide range of designs, which have originated from various civilizations and countries. First, find pictures on the internet. There are web sites that really specialize in showing tribal tattoo designs and more. All you have to do is to type in the keyword "tribal tattoos" and voila! You will be displayed with a thousand results. But make sure that you at least know a little history about the design you choose.

For years now, people from around the world have appreciated the art of tribal tattoos. But in the past, the natives were the first to have discovered and used it for different purposes. Over time, it has been passed on from one generation to another. And now, the westerners have loved this kind of body art.

So where did it first originate? How did it come to be? Well, during the ancient times, these tribal designs were not just body decorations. They often mean something. The symbols may signify rank, status, or power of the individual bearing it. Various people from different cultures have adapted this kind of tribal tattoo before as an aspect of human life. However, various cultures have different tribal tattoo designs.

It is said that the first style was found in Egypt, way back then, when pharaohs were on the throne. Hieroglyphics is one of the most popular tribal tattoo designs and even though the symbols were very meaningful to the ancient people, some see it as a form of art. However, Egyptians have also used it to represent religious and cultural scenes. The Egyptians were firm believers of the afterlife and so they drew half animal and half human tattoos to symbolize life after death. Next to that are the Asian tribal tattoos.

Tribal tattoo designs have been the first tattoo designs to be used. Tattoos originated in various tribes across the world, where members of each tribe would paint or scar certain marks on them. Tattooing is done today by inserting ink in the pores of the skin so as to make a permanent mark on the skin but this originated in various primitive tribes as an extremely crude and painful procedure.

New trend tattoos for cool girls

It is known that several tribes such as Celtic, Irish, Chinese, Indian, African, Native American, Maori, etc. all over the world used tattoos. The design themes that these tribes used have collectively come to be known as tribal tattoo designs. Tribal tattoos are generally done in black color.

The tribes generally used tattoos to honor God or to identify members of their tribe. They might have also been used as symbol of bravery and courage, as during those times it was extremely tormenting to get a tattoo. Tattoos were also used to commemorate certain occasions in the life of tribesmen such birth of new born or entering into adulthood, etc. or to mark certain events in the history of the tribe such as victory in a war or end of famine, etc.

Both men and women in the tribe usually get tattoos but men generally get more tattoos than women. Also it is common in certain tribes for men to get tattoos all over their face but women would usually only get tattoos on checks or other parts of their body.

Even though most tribes used extremely primitive techniques to draw their tattoos, their designs are very exotic and articulate. These tattoo designs are extremely detailed and are very difficult to reproduce. So if you are planning to get a tribal tattoo it is exceptionally important that you visit an artist who specializes in tribal art. Not every tattoo artist will be able to ink a good tribal tattoo for this kind of tattoo requires a lot of precision.

Also before getting a tribal tattoo, it is important that you try to find out what it symbolizes. Tribal tattoos have a lot of in-depth meaning attached to their designs. Though the designs might look simple but they are very mystical in nature and you will be able to really appreciate a tribal tattoo only if you know the hidden meaning behind it.

Tribal tattoos can also be combined with other designs such as animals, floral, weapons, etc. But it is important for tribal art to be unique; it doesn't look good if you have cookie cutter designs. For this reason it is extremely important as to how you get the tribal design. If you just pick up your design by doing a search on the internet, you might end up with a fake tribal tattoo or something that has been used by thousands of people. In some tribe it is actually considered an insult to copy that tattoo.

It is best to get your tribal tattoo designs from a paid tattoo website. These websites hire tattoo artists to create these designs and they are very different than what you find on the free websites. Moreover upon request on some of these websites, you can even request the artist to customize your tattoo to make it unique for you.

A number of researches tell that more women go for a tattoo than men. Some tattoo designers are of the opinion that women are stronger than men when it comes to tattooing. Men initially pose very strong and tough before the process starts but when the needles touch their skin some of them collapse. On the other hand women have a higher level of tolerance and can withstand the pain.

Men are not as style conscious as women. Men generally select a design and select any place on their body and just get their tattoos done. Women on the other hand are choosier about what kind of tattoo they want, what their exact design and color should be and exactly which part of their body the tattoo would adorn.

Women normally get tattoos when they go through some major emotion change. A life changing incident often pushes a woman to get a tattoo done making that tattoo a mark of that incident. One of the most frequent reasons used by women to get a tattoo done is that they have divorced their husbands or they have broken up with their boyfriend. Apart from these two major reasons the other life changing incidents for which women get tattoos are marriage, or childbirth or loss of a loved one.

The practice of women getting a tattoo for some emotional change is not new. It's going on since thousands of years. Earlier it was thought that if a woman can not tolerate the pain of tattooing then she will definitely not be able to stand the pain of childbirth.

Earlier women used to get a tattoo on hidden parts of their bodies like their thighs or breasts. But now women have started tattooing on visible parts of their bodies. Many women request for larger and customized tattoos. They get it done on their arms, legs and any thinkable visible parts of their body. Some women even cover almost their whole bodies with tattoos but the most popular visible parts of a woman's body where you can see a tattoo are the centre of the neck, ankle, lower back and upper breasts. The artist also suggests the client on which part of her body a particular design will look best.

Women generally like feminine tattoos. So the most popular designs for women are flower like sunflowers and roses, angels, fairies, butterflies, unicorns. Some time back dolphin tattoos were quite popular among women. Some women also go for general tattoos like that of animals and birds. Some women even go for manly and gothic tattoos. Many women tattoo the names or initials of their loved ones on their skin and decorate them with patterns.

Arm tattoos for men have been use throughout the centuries as a symbol of strength, agility and braveness. It is also used to express his tough mental and physical attribute. In the modern times, men have their arm tattooed hoping to attract the opposite sex.
Tribal and Celtic Tattoo Design on Side Hand” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Among all of your body parts, tattoos on the arm can be easily seen. Most hand tattoos on men are drawn on the upper side of the arm and arm sleeve. Some of the most common designs used on arm tattoo for men are tribal themes, human skulls, animals, Celtic themes etc.

Even through people are spotting tattoos all over their bodies, tattoos on the arm is always trendy. This type of tattoo is not only for the rebellious, even the conservatives will find hand tattoos suitable for their body ink.

The types of designs most suitable as arm tattoo for men ranges from burning flames, mystic dragons, Polynesian tribe tattoos, human death skulls, beast of the animal kingdom etc. If you are looking to portray a message on your arm, a simple lettering will do just fine.

How much would it cost to get an ink on your arm? The charges of getting an arm ink is usually lower compared to a chest or back tattoo. Reason being, arm tattoos are usually smaller therefore it takes a shorter time to complete the tattoo process. However, the price for getting an arm tattoo for men can be quite steep if you are choosing a complex design with multiple colors.

If you are looking for a hand tattoo pattern, it is best to look for one that suite your personality. Thanks to many body ink related web portals, you can now have access to literally thousands of designs. Browse through as many designs as possible, it is only a matter of time before you find your perfect tattoo before you ink.

Tattoo or body art has gained huge popularity over recent times. People of any age group and any social standing may be seen to be sporting tattoos. But they vary from person to person with respect of its designs. People sport tattoos depending on their social positioning and age group. The sported done by women are very different from that of men or hard core criminals! So the more the number of people do tattoo the more is the variety.Tribal Tattoo Design on Back Girl

But instead of just going to a tattoo artist and get your tattoo done it is much better to go for something unique and ingenious. This not only distinguishes your tattoo from the others but also adds a new idea to the ever expanding realm of tattoo ideas. The tattoo that one wears reveals to an extent the personality of that particular person. So isn't it better to go for something that is unique rather than blindly copying others? As for example if one wants to tattoo a lion on his arm then he can directly draw that animal using colors as used in any other tattoo but instead of just doing this if he does the same tattoo of the animal by joining dots (just as we used to do in our first drawing classes!), that highlights the outline of it then it is not only unique but is also much more artistically appealing.

Now-a-days it has become a common fad amongst the people to tattoo the name of their dear ones on their body. This type of fashion of tattooing names or inscribing any message on the body especially on the hands in Hindi, Arabic, Chinese or Japanese is ideal for people looking forward for something different since in most cases the messages are not similar and they bring out the personality of the bearer. A variant of this kind, the Japanese Kanji tattoo especially is very popular among the masses as it supposedly raises the cool quotient and also sends out a message.

Other than this some of the tattoo ideas that have stood the test of time are the floral tattoos, the star and sun tattoos, the animal tattoos and last but not the least the tribal tattoos. Here, a few words are worth mentioning about the tribal tattoos.

Tribal tattoos have been in existence since time immemorial. It was believed by some tribes that tattooing initiates a person into adulthood. The tribal tattoos with their intricate black and sometimes white patterns that are now in practice may be a bit different from the authentic tribal tattoos owned by different tribes but nevertheless these neo tribal tattoos are as charming as their primitive counterparts.

Tattooing may have been practiced for centuries but it gained popularity only in the 21st century, to be more precise over the last 40 years. It is no longer restricted to the traditional worn by the tribes but it has now been able to spread its charm among people of different age group belonging to different strata of society. Depending on their social position people make their tattoos. While women prefer certain types of tattoos reflecting their nature, those preferred by men are completely different. There are huge numbers of people who seem to be looking for tattoos that are symbolic or have a very personal meaning to them. This has given rise to unique forms. The best designs in fact are which are unique and ingenious.

Tribal Tattoo Design in side Hand

With the changing fashion trends the designs also keep changing continually but the best designs are those that survive not only the test of time but also the tacit test of fashion. Some of the best and most popular designs are star tattoos, angel tattoos, floral tattoos, animal, Celtic, bird, Chinese, kanji, biker and black and grey tattoos.

Star tattoos

According to many tattooists shooting star tattoos are a popular form. A lot of people seem to be getting them because they express their inner desire to be a star. This is very popular especially amongst females. Perhaps it is because pop culture feeds into this desire to be a star. What better way to reach for the stars than by getting a shooting star.

Floral tattoos

Floral tattoos symbolizing timeless beauty is very popular amongst women.

Butterfly tattoos

Butterfly tattoos have been one of the most popular designs requested by females for the past few years. There are so many ways of rendering them in ink as there are varieties of this beautiful insect. From big bold butterflies, tribal style butterflies to small delicate butterfly designs.

Chinese tattoos

Chinese Tattoos have always been hugely popular. Though earlier they were sported only by the criminals and mafias, now it seems even celebrities seem to have caught on to the mystery and allure of the Far East. The most common Chinese tattoos are ones that are supposed to represent ideas and qualities like love or strength. Another popular form is the Chinese dragon which has been regarded as a symbol of power and mystery for ages. Depicted in countless legends, both Eastern and Western, the dragon has provoked man not only to fear and worship it but it is this allure of power and strength that tempts man to sport a dragon tattoo.

Katy has once stated that she looks up the former front-man of Queen and completely idolizes him. She shared that she once almost got a huge tattoo of Freddie's face on her back, but says she decided against at the last minute. She says she is glad she didn't do it but on the flip side she still has an urge to get this tattoo on her back. So it is pretty safe to say that this pin up style singer will more than likely add to her tattoo collection one day.

Tribal tattoo art is becoming more prominent every day. These unique designs which have a symbolic meaning for many tribes are worn today for decorative body art. Tribal tattooing began many years ago with countless traditional tribes. These tribes had tattoos for many reasons including spiritual, to identify families and clans, marriage, rites of passage, as totem animal guardians and for love spells and charms. Below is a few of the popular tribes that we admire and wear their style of tattooing.

  • Polynesian - There are many different styles of Polynesian tattooing such as Maori, Hawaiian, Samoan, Tahitian and Marquesan. Every island has its own style but the similar characteristics of them all are the bold black abstracts and figurative designs. Some popular Polynesian symbols include the shark, turtle, dolphin, manta ray, gecko and tiki. The meanings of these tattoos include traditions, tribal ancestors, tribe rituals, legends, proverbs, mythologies, social and religious values.
  • Maori - Traditional Maori tattoos are known as Ta moko and they consist of bold intricate patterns in distinctive curved shapes and spirals. The meanings of these tribal tattoos would celebrate important events throughout life and represent strength, courage and status. They depict nature as movements of rhythmic and cyclic patterns.
  • Hawaiian - These tattoos have been around for thousands of years and are usually very large and bold geometric designs. Some common shapes and symbols used are fish, birds, turtles, sharks, waves, rain and the sun. Hawaiian tattoos have meanings such as tribe membership, celebration, self expression and some are done simply for adornment.
  • Native American - Tattoos for the Native American people have more of a spiritual significance and represent a connection with the earth. Popular tattoos are animal tattoos such as the eagle which carries a great religious significance. The wolf is also a sacred tattoo design that is a symbol of loyalty and success. Some more Native American animal tattoos are: bears, coyotes, horses, owls, fox, deer, turtle and frogs. Another favored design is the kokopelli which is regarded as a symbol of fertility. Other Native American tattoos are designs that depict elements of nature such as fire, wind and water.

Tribal tattoo art is not only decorative and unique, but it represents the symbolism of traditional tribes and their cultures. These tattoos have been proudly worn for many years and they continue to grow in popularity every day.

Getting a tribal wolf tattoo is a big step for most people. The wolf as a symbol has become more popular as of late, so it only makes sense that people into getting ink are looking for a great tribal wolf design. Finding this design can be a difficult process, but there are many resources out there that can narrow down your search.

The symbolism involved by the wolf is one of power, grace, wonder, and spirit. The wolf has been a consistent symbol in folklore, literature, and song. At one point, the wolf was represented as something negative, but now there has been a new way of looking at wolves as the strong creatures that they are. Choosing to get a tattoo of a wolf shows that one is connected with the spirit of the forest and the earth.

Depending on the location of your tattoo, you can rest assured that people will comment and ask about it. You may even inspire others to get their first tribal tattoo, and that is something worth doing.

When choosing a design for your tribal wolf tattoo, make sure you do the proper amount of research into the artwork. This tattoo will be permanent (even with new advancements in tattoo removal), so spend time to find or be inspired by the proper look you want. Many online tattoo galleries are outdated and you do not want to repeat a design that would not stand out as unique. Joining a pay gallery that has current artwork, tattoo designs, and tattoo parlor listings can reduce the amount of time you spend on this research, so choose wisely.

Tribal cross tattoo

Have you been finding it difficult to zero in on just the right tattoo design? If so, that's probably a good thing. Because tattoos are permanent, they are the kind of thing you should consider carefully. You should look ate several different design portfolios to get ideas. Also, talk to the tattoo artist to see what other ideas they can suggest.

Regardless of what anybody has to say about what design you should get, you are the one that will be having ink embedded in your skin with a tattoo gun, so it's ultimately up to you. You can still turn to others for suggestions, and there's nothing wrong with getting plenty of ideas, but it will be up to you to refine the list of tattoo design choices before settling on the final one.

Ideas for Men's and Women's Tattoo Designs

It only makes sense that men and women would find different designs more appealing. In general, men will prefer designs that highlight their masculinity, while women will prefer more feminine designs; there are, of course, always exceptions. Think of tattoos as a way of self-expression and these general choices are logical.

A word of caution is in order before we look at some ideas for tattoo designs: No matter how much you are in love, no matter how convince you are that it's a good idea, do your best to resist the temptation to get your partner's name tattooed on your body. Life is funny, and far too many people have found themselves going through a break up only to have the name as a constant reminder of what used to be.

You should be well aware that there are no universal designs for men or women, as each tattoo is based on many different individual factors. While tattoos are a personal decision, one of the factors that goes into choosing one is gender. Even if the final design doesn't seem to coincide with one's gender, it will usually be one of the criteria used in selecting a tattoo (even if it's done at a subconscious level). Even more important is one's taste and style.

Speaking in general terms, women tend to choose smaller, feminine-themed tattoos such as flowers, hearts, butterflies and cats, for example. They may also opt for knotwork, fairies, crosses or other symbols of their beliefs. More common places for female tattoos are the ankle, hip, leg, lower back and shoulder. This is often done to keep them more readily hidden in certain situations.

Men, on the other hand, prefer more masculine tattoo designs. Top choices for men include lions, eagles, tribal designs, Celtic and dragons. They will also have crosses or other symbols of what they believe, but they, along with the others, will be bigger in comparison to female tattoos. Furthermore, men are more likely to prominently display their tattoos on their arms, chests and backs.

Of course, those are only suggestions. The more ideas you have to choose from the better your chances of choosing the design that's just right for you.

For thousands of years people have been fascinated by the stars in the sky. So it is only natural that a lot of men and women are looking for a Star Tattoo Design, when they first think about getting a Tattoo.

Stars are also deeply connected with Mythology, Religion and Symbolic Meaning. Just think about how shooting stars are linked to being able to fulfill your wishes or star signs are believed to foretell ones future.

One of the benefits of a Star Tattoo Design is that they can come in a variety of different sizes and styles. You can have a very small and simple star, or you can choose a large shooting star with a lot of intricate details.

If you are looking for a more masculine Tattoo Design than the Nautical Star would be the perfect choice. The five points of the nautical star are typically split in half and filled with alternating colors.

This design used to be very popular with sailors, who believed that they would provide protection and more importantly guidance, but is also popular with soldiers for the same reasons. Interestingly today the nautical star is also associated with gays and lesbians. Some wear the nautical star as a sign of their sexual orientation.

Probably the best know star is the star of David or the Jewish star. A six pointed star that looks as if two triangles are interlaced with each other. This design comes with a heavy history as the German Nazis forced the Jews to wear batches on their clothes to clearly mark them as Jews. Maybe for that reason today some younger Jewish people wear them as "badge of honor".

The pentagram design is by far the oldest and most meaningful star design. Over the history of mankind many different meanings have been associated with the pentagram. Whether it is protection against evil or mathematical perfection you can probably find a meaning that fits with what you want to express with your tattoo.

Tribal Star designs often include depictions of the moon as well as stars. By combining stars and the moon, or in some cases even the sun, many different designs are possible that don't carry that much meaning as many of the other designs.

One of the most popular Star Tattoo Designs is the shooting star. As a symbol of success and good luck they can be very intricately designed and cover large areas by adding many small stars to the design.

There is just something about sun and moon tattoos that attract both the male and female tat enthusiasts to have them proudly inked on their body. Must be the meaning itself, or perhaps the vivid colors or maybe the sunny disposition it can exude. Whatever the reason might be, this type of tat theme will definitely continue to be brought to life on human canvasses by talented tattoo artists of any generation.

The sun and moon, even before becoming a regular item seen on body art, have always played a role in imagery. For many cultures around the world, the sun is the epitome of male energy, light and warmth while the moon is the symbol of female mystery and creation. When combined as a design, they are seen as a union of two opposites coming together as one to create harmony and balance. They are representation of the dual sides of humanity that are needed in order to achieve balance and stability.

These two amazing symbols are both symbolic of death and rebirth. The sun has its daily rising and setting while the moon has its monthly waxing and waning. It is the sun's energy that can warm the earth and causes the crops to ripen while its the moon's gravity that can influence the waters and control the flow of tides. Indeed, these two elements work together to put everything in balance and perfect harmony.

You see cherry blossom tattoos on many women these days as these such designs have grown in popularity among tattoo aficionados and first timers alike. This rush for distinct tattoos of cherry blossoms has given rise to a great interest in the meaning and symbolism of the cherry blossom in both the Chinese and Japanese cultures.
Since tattoos are very personal things, they can say a lot about a person so getting the right tattoo for the right reason is important. Since cherry blossoms mean different things in Chinese and Japanese society you should be aware that peoples of those backgrounds might react quite differently when they see it.

Cherry Blossoms In China

The Chinese see the cherry blossom as a symbol of power, particularly of the dominance of the feminine persona. This could mean a blossom tattoo is ideal for you if you are a strong willed woman who values her liberty and freedom or if you have recently come out of a difficult relationship.

It also stands for love if you are coming from the herbal lore approach.

Cherry Blossoms In Japan

In Japanese culture there is often a link between the blossoming of cherry tress and the Buddhist concept of "mono no aware" which refers to the reverence for life, the transience of being and the sadness at the passing of things. This is because cherry blossoms only appear on tress for short times before they fall to the ground.

I feel jealous of the dragon
I hold my dragon drawings
I want to breathe his power
I want to yell sometimes
I think maybe I will take me out of this box
build me back
start to find that spark.

Tribal Tattoo Craze

Back in the early '90s, tribal tattoos became huge when metal bands donned their arms with tribal wrap-around designs. Today, it's not just tribal armbands- it's back tattoos, stomach and chest tattoos and even tribal ankle tattoos that are big news in the tattoo world. Each carries it own significance that can be very personal to the tattoo wearer.

What do you think of when you hear "tribal" tattoo? Most people think of the classic jagged wavy tribal design that heralded the 1990s tattoo craze. Contrary to popular belief, there are many different tribal designs available. Many ill-informed tattoo "beginners" simply aren't aware of the various designs. As a result, many settle with the tribal armband. With a little exploration, you can find a diverse collection of tribal tattoos that use the curves of the human body as its canvas.

Tribal tattoos all have the several things in common: predominance of dark ink throughout entire design, gratuitous use of wavy lines and circles, and the use of non-solid design for pictures. All of these elements give tribal tattoos a very unique identity. Where traditional tattoos are prided on strong detail and color, tribal tattoos seek the ultimate simplicity and ambiguity.

Tribal tattoos can be further split into two categories: pictorial and abstract tribal art. Pictorial tribal tattoos use the wavy and circular lines to show a picture. Pictorial tribal tattoos usually depict an animal or fish, the most common being birds, snakes, cats and dolphins. Pictorial tribal tattoos are great because it can take a while to truly see the animal under the tribal design. Abstract tribal tattoos are completely ambiguous- they do not form a specific animal or picture. Abstract tribal tattoos have the advantage of mystery and can be easily changed if you want something different later on.
